MEET THE BAND

troy1

TROY, known as “The Van Gogh of the Banjo” founded the HMJB in his bedroom with Mike in November 1997. He plays guitar, banjo, harmonica, tin whistle and does the majority of the singing. He likes the Red Sox, obsolete cameras and most dogs more than most people.

MIKE “The Drummer” co-founded the band with Troy in the last century. He plays drums (and other things you whack with a stick) and does a lot of singing. Mike enjoys Grand Theft Auto, Kevin Smith movies, banging his head to AC/DC on the satellite radio and puttin’ the pedal to the metal.

“Frost” STEVE was the only person to answer the ad in the paper. He plays bass, harmonica, saxophone, sings a bit and rocks out on the kazoo. He looks forward to quiet evenings at home, moonlit kayaking trips, playing (music) with himself in the cellar and whining.

CARTER, or “Virginia Slim” as they call him, has come a long way, baby. He’s originally from the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley. He joined the band four years after they invited him aboard. He plays six string and slide guitar, mandolin, clarinet and promises to sing. He likes razor sharp hand tools, home made beer, growing hops for the beer, and testing the beer.
