That’s at Kathy and Jimbo’s wedding a few years back when ole’ Glen was still in the band.
Random picture: Carter and Steve in the isolation booth at Acadia Recording during sessions for “Get the Show on the Road.” What is Carter doing?
We taped a Christmas segment for WCSH’s 207 show a week or two back to promote our big show at the Waldo Theatre on the 19th. They say it’s going to air on Dec. 11th. That might change, though. We’ll keep you posted and we’ll post it here if you miss it on the tube.
Well, Burlington was wet and there were some bothersome characters about, but we managed to have a swell time anyway. Some folks drove hours from places like Saratoga Springs to come and see us — so we did our best to put on a high-energy, if moist, show for the, umm, masses. We ate at a Japanese steakhouse and had a hibachi dude flip food into our mouths. Back at the motel, Troy won most of the chips with his baffling poker face. The morning came early.
The weather was nice on the way home. Well, maybe not nice, but it didn’t rain the whole time, and that was a massive improvement.
Lynch Park in Beverly was a gorgeous spot to play. They had a huge bandshell that dwarfed our tiny, sidewalk show. Then we watched the moon rise over the Atlantic.
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the fabulous (as always) welcome we got at Hidden Valley summer camp on July 2nd. It’s a private show we’ve been doing for a few years now and we really look forward to it. The kids, the councillors and the whole camp are first rate. Thanks again guys.

Available at the Roller Derby on the 13th... available online very, very, very soon.
Yep. we started to record this puppy back in February 08, when Glen was still in the band. We weren’t able to finish it due to his horrific, yet totally avoidable, snow-blowing accident. Sigh. We told him not to to stick his trumpet in there. Let it be a lesson for all of us. Now he honks when he walks and his family has to put valve oil in his nose when the temperature drops below freezing. Don’t even ask where the spit valve ended up.
Anyway.
We went back into the studio with our new guy, Carter, in the fall of 08 after warning him about the dangers of mixing instruments and lawn and garden equipment. So far, so good.
We ended up finishing the mix-down in March of 09. And presto, after more than a year of half-assed work we have the greatest Half Moon Jug Band CD you’ll hear all summer. Actually, we’re quite proud of our new, skinny, round baby and we can’t wait to see you, yes you, at a show this summer.
Our online retailer, CD Baby, needs a few more days to get it up on the web and ready to take your orders. In the meantime enjoy some pictures from the studio.

Recording is hard work and Mike the Drummer needs his beauty sleep. Nighty, night.

The Van Gogh of the Banjo enjoys a sip of sparkling spring water.

Steve-O sings Ooohhhhh.

Carter enjoys adjusting his headphones a whole lot more than most people.

Glen, before the accident.
Carter played his first official HMJB gig December 20th at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine — the town that just one name couldn’t contain. They had to give it two names. We finished up the theatre’s “Saturday Night” concert series. We were billed as, “a most unusual Holiday finale.” Fair enough.
Carter came through with flying colors and with barely a scratch. The crowd really took to him and we took to the beautiful theatre and ultra-swell folks who run it and the local chamber of commerce. Thanks Ed! Thanks Russ! We should also thank (one more time) the show’s sponsor A E. Robinson Oil Company.
